How do I download Office 365 for Home Use?

  • With SUNY Erie's Office 365 subscription, you can install Office desktop applications
    on up to 5 computers, which can be a combination of Macs, PCs, and mobile device
  • This software comes as a free download for current staff and students.

  1. Download Office 365 for business for a PC or Mac or Download Office 365 on a mobile device

  • "For how long may I use this plan?"
    • If you are an SUNY Erie employee with an SUNY Erie network/email account,
      you can use the plan until you no longer employed at SUNY Erie.
    • If you are a registered SUNY Erie student with a SUNY Erie network/email account,
      you can use the plan until you no longer a registered student at SUNY Erie.
    • At expiration, the Office applications enter a reduced-functionality mode,
      which means documents can be viewed but it isn't possible to edit or create new documents.
      In addition, online services associated with your SUNY Erie email address,
      for example Office Online and OneDrive, will no longer work.
  • "Where do I find my product key?"
  • "I get a Product Deactivated message"
    • You don't need to be connected to the Internet all the time to use Office desktop programs like Word and Excel, but you must connect to the Internet at least once every 30 days to remain activated. This is so that the status of your subscriptions can be checked. If you don't connect within 30 days, Office goes into reduced functionality mode. After you connect to the Internet and your subscription status is verified, all the features of Office will be available again.
