How do I project the desktop on a teaching station?

Answer 1:

1. Make sure the computer is on
2. Press the Windows Key (W) + P, this should bring up the "Project to" menu
3. Select Duplicate

Answer 2: 

1. Power down the projector, then turn off the computer
2. Turn on the computer, and once it is fully booted up, turn on the projector

Outcome: 

The computer desktop will now be projected to the class
